# Encaje > Encaje is a free, open source (MIT) window manager for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later. Draw your own window zones on a grid, give each one a keyboard shortcut and snap the focused window into place, on any display. ## Key facts - Native macOS app built with Swift, AppKit and SwiftUI. Apple Silicon only (M1 or newer), macOS 14 Sonoma or later. - Nine default zones on Shift shortcuts: Shift+Q/W/E top left/top/top right, Shift+A/S/D left/maximize/right, Shift+Z/X/C bottom left/bottom/bottom right. - Zones are drawn on a grid from 1 to 64 rows and columns, with exact cell controls, undo/redo and reference outlines of other zones. - Repeating a directional shortcut moves the window to the neighboring display; each zone can stay on the current display instead. - Workspaces save a layout and restore the positions of matching open windows (they do not launch apps). - Pause from the menu bar, exclude apps, window spacing (none by default), optional window glide animation that respects Reduce Motion, launch at login. - English, Spanish or the system language. - Only permission: Accessibility. No Screen Recording, Microphone, Full Disk Access or Automation. No account, no analytics. - Signed Sparkle 2 updates from GitHub Releases; automatic checks are optional and installing requires the user's action. ## Links - Website: https://encaje.stevenacz.com/ - Spanish: https://encaje.stevenacz.com/es/ - Download: https://github.com/StevenACZ/Encaje/releases/latest - Source: https://github.com/StevenACZ/Encaje - More Mac apps by the same developer: https://apps.stevenacz.com/ - Developer: https://stevenacz.com/
